Glyn Kirk/Agence France-Presse — Getty ImagesSerena Williams has now won 14 career Grand Slam titles.Serena Williams won her fifth Wimbledon title and 14th overall Grand Slam title with a tricky 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win over Agnieszka Radwanska Saturday on Centre Court.
Williams, who suffered a life-threatening pulmonary embolism in February 2011, collapsed onto her back with emotion after winning match point, then ran up into her box to hug family and friends.
It is Williams’ first Grand Slam title since winning Wimbledon in 2010. The five Wimbledon titles equals her sister’s total haul at Wimbledon. She also becomes the first woman over 30 to win a Grand Slam title Martina Navratilova won Wimbledon in 1990.
