Aid workers kidnapped from Kenya's Dadaab camp near Somalia

Breaking news

Four foreign aid workers and one Kenyan national have been kidnapped in Kenya from a refugee camp close to the border with Somalia, police say.

According to the Associated Press news agency, a convoy of aid workers from the Norwegian Refugee Council was ambushed by gunmen in Dadaab camp.

Police sources told AFP agency that a driver was killed in the assault.

Several aid workers have been kidnapped from Dadaab in the last year and many groups have withdrawn from the camp.

The attack happened close to the compound of Norwegian Refugee Council within Dadaab, the world's largest refugee camp, AFP says.

A Norwegian Refugee Council official in Oslo told AP it was trying to get information on the attack and could not confirm the reports.
